PeopleAid delivers aid that works. We give a hand up, not a handout, by breaking the cycle of inter-generational poverty through sustainable business creation.

PeopleAid provides the means for a sound, debt free, income producing business through its four main programs – Market Carts, Rickshaws, Wells, Sewing Machines.

PeopleAid empowers the poor. By focusing on helping people to help themselves, families are freed from poverty and able to afford essential food, clothing, housing, healthcare, and education for their children. They are able to look forward to a brighter future.

PeopleAid engages and trains local people to do the manufacturing and assembly of the Market Carts and Rickshaws for our programs. In addition, we undertake larger infrastructure projects including constructing Wells for both domestic and agricultural water, along with schools and community buildings, which contribute to development and employment in poor villages and towns.

PeopleAid is simply committed to helping communities and permanently setting the poor and needy free from the cycle of poverty forever.

PeopleAid is interdenominational and was founded in 1986. The first small business sponsorship program was Rickshaws For India which commenced in 1995 and has now set free over 39,000 poor Indian families. After much consultation with Market Cart businesses, engineering design, prototype testing and improvements, the Market Carts program was officially launched in 2017.
